Description:

The Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario is excited to invite you to attend our Annual Conference being held at Glen Bernard Camp, located near the village of Sundridge in Ontario's beautiful Almaguin Highlands region, September 27 - 29, 2013. The 2013 COEO Conference Committee has been hard at work and plans are now complete for this year's conference. Our theme, "The Unconvention" is an attempt to breakaway from the usual conference format and do things a little bit differently. This year's conference will be comprised of four "mini conferences" or four separate conference streams and participants will have the option of taking part in one conference stream exclusively or bouncing between all four. This conference will also include many unconventional elements and surprises!

Conference streams include:

Forest Schools: Provisions for outdoor learning in the early years and beyond
Adventure Education: Guiding new perspectives
Storytelling: Making narrative an imperative in our professional practice
Fun & Games: From ecological simulations to everyday silliness

Please plan to join us as we explore new ideas and perspectives, learn and share best practices and refocus and rejuvenate for th year ahead! The full conference program has now been posted online. Visit the COEO website for all the details about this exciting upcoming event or see the attached Conference Brochure. Register today at www.coeo.org.

***ATTENTION: UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE STUDENTS AND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS - Please be informed that conference bursaries are available to help you offset the cost of attending - you must apply by September 6th (application details located on the COEO website). Also, groups of five students or more are eligible for a group discount (see COEO website for details).

Module series: Early childhood systems renewal

Location:
Ryerson University Toronto , ON
CA
Event date:
1 Sep 2013 - 12:00am

Description:

Are you ready to manage early childhood systems integration? What are the tools and resources you will need to manage the change? Ryerson University's G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, in partnership with the School of Early Childhood Studies, is pleased to introduce a new Module Series on Early Childhood Systems Renewal starting in Fall 2013.

Learning Outcomes

These modules will support directors and managers in understanding the change processes in relation to multi-system transformation. Participants will learn about:

•Principles and theories of system change and collaboration
•Leadership and communication strategies needed for system-wide transformation
•Creating a common vision that supports an integrated service system

Who Should Enroll

This series of modules aims to attract CEOs, Executive Directors, managers and those leading the change in organizations that represent intersectoral groups serving children and families in diverse communities (Aboriginal, education, child care, family support, health, early intervention, and Francophone). These modules will also be relevant to senior policy professionals at the provincial and municipal level who oversee child and family services.

Mode of Delivery

Each module will consist of a one-day, on-campus workshop along with selected pre-readings, which will be available to participants online prior to the workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in online discussions after each workshop.

Participants can choose to register in any or all of the modules based on their own interests and needs. You do not need to complete all three modules; however, our goal is to assist participants in strengthening their leadership capacity related to Early Childhood Systems Integration. Therefore, completing all three modules would provide the most thorough overview.

See attached flyer for more information on individual modules and prices.
