This one-day practical learning opportunity is for everyone concerned about children aged 6-12 yrs.

Keynote speakers: Ann Douglas, Canadian Author of "The Mother of All Parenting Books" and "The Mother of all Toddler Books" etc; Gerrard Kennedy, Minister of Education (still to confirm); Marie Bountrogianni, Minister of Children and Citizenship (still to confirm)

Goal: To increase awareness of the need for resources for children between the ages of 6–12 (middle years) and establish a coalition of interested stakeholders

Objectives:

• to update participants knowledge of the growth and developmental needs of the middle years

• to identify the critical components of a "good" program

• to identify the benefits of after-school programs for children, families, and the community

• to identify strategies to overcome the barriers of providing programs for children 6–12 years old
