THE EVENING'S TOPIC

Pueblito Canada has been engaged in a child-centered community development project in Barrio Nuevo, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for the last 5 years. Dr. Henry Parada, as co-investigator with Barrio Nuevo community members, will share information from this participatory action research evaluation project.

Dr. Parada will discuss the standpoint methodologies used along with preliminary findings of the project. Gender issues, children's rights and protection as well as parental involvement in community organization will be discussed.

The forum will be of interest to those from the fields of international development, social work, political science, women's studies and community development.
