EXCERPTS:

Economist Don Drummond should know about good investments. His recent report commissioned by Dalton McGuinty, premier of Ontario, targeted many of the usual areas; fullday kindergarten being one.

Full-day learning in not a luxury. Dr. Charles Pascal, the premier's special adviser on early learning, made it clear in his report that establishing a strong foundation in early years and building on it is the single most powerful factor in Ontario's social and economic future.

In Essex County, we have our kindergarten classrooms staffed with highly qualified teachers and early childhood educators. These dedicated educators should be celebrated as moving our children and society forward.

As an Ontario taxpayer, I want to make my investment in the future, and that includes our most valuable asset, our young children.
