Description:

Let's build support for the value of child care by listening to people from a range of perspectives reflect on what child care means to everyone in BC.

We're pairing up speakers from different perspectives, including across generations (Gen Y'ers and Boomers) and occupations (an accountant, filmmaker, union activist, and child care advocate). After listening to facilitated and in-depth conversations, we'll open things up to include everyone in a community conversation about the value of child care.

Presenters/Panelists:

Tom Kertes (Liberation Learning and Educator at UBC Child Care)
Sharon Gregson (former VSB Board Member)
Lynell Anderson (HELP)
Paul Finch (VP BCGEU)
Tara Mahoney (Gen Why Media Project)

Sessions:

Dialogue 1: Can Gen Y "future" families even afford to have children?
Tara Mahoney (Gen Y, Filmmaker - Gen Why Media Project)
Sharon Gregson (Boomer, Former VSB Board Member - Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC)
Dialogue 2: Can child care achieve women's equality and shared economic prosperity in BC?
Paul Finch (Gen Y, Union Activist - VP of BCGEU)
Lynell Anderson (Boomer, Accountant and Researcher - HELP: Human Early Learning Project)
