EXCERPTS:

The province will create three new children's centres with the help of $500,000 from the Margaret and Wallace McCain Family Foundation.

The foundation has committed $100,000 in each of five years to establish the centres.

The province has not yet decided where the centres will be.

The centres could include day care, early learning programs, parent education, early intervention, and before and after school programs.

The services will be based on the community's needs, according to a provincial release.

Margaret McCain, Premier Darrell Dexter, and Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Ramona Jennex made the announcement at a Halifax daycare Wednesday morning
