The Early Childhood Development Association and the government of PEI are jointly sponsoring the early years conference in PEI.
This conference will bring together community members, practitioners, educators, researchers, policy makers and civic leaders. Its focus will be around strategies and tools for mobilizing, monitoring and evaluating community action on the early years agenda.
Expert panel presentations, concurrent workshops, and poster displays will provide opportunity for leading child development researchers and practitioners to build knowledge base about current developments and applications.
Making a world of difference will build on the United Nations Special Session for Children titled A World Fit For Children, and will focus on three streams of dialogue:
* Promoting healthy lives;
* Providing quality care and education;
* Protecting our children.
Making a world of difference will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about:
* child development outcomes research
* monitoring children's outcomes and community resources
* ways to improve community-wide environments for all children
* how to strengthen connections between research and practice, right across the country
Who Should Attend?
Educators, researchers, community program/services representatives, municipal, provincial and federal children's policy makers and civic leaders - anyone from private, public and voluntary sectors who has a commitment to an early years action plan.
