The City of Toronto's Youth Action Committee has established a $5000 cash award for the Children's Advocate Award for Innovation. This is not a grant, but rather an AWARD:

- to recognize a program or component of a program that finds a unique way of addressing a need and meeting outcomes

- to recognize fresh practices and creative approaches of service delivery

- to demonstrate leadership in other programs in their approach

There are many excellent programs in the City of Toronto that provide high quality service to children and families. This award, however, presents an opportunity to recognize innovation in service delivery. I will be working with a panel of children's services experts to choose the recipient of the award. I encourage everyone in the children's services community to consider submitting a nomination.
