Celebrating 25 years of supporting families and communities.

In recent years there has been increased emphasis on the importance of positive early experience in the optimal development of children. "The Early Years Study" published in 1999 emphasized the important role that family support programs, such as family resource programs, play in the healthy development of children. In the year 2000, important new funding was made available for infant and preschool headstart through the National Children's Agenda and the Ontario Early Years Plan. This conference will again provide an opportunity for participants to meet and share around topics and issues we are facing together as family support workers.

The Metro Association of Family Resource Programs is an umbrella organization that supports the work of Family Resource Programs through networking, advocacy, public education, organizational development, professional development and publicity.
