The conference focuses on the twin themes of "emerging curricula" and "emerging educators". Both themes recognise the paramount importance of taking the leads from the children, and of working on their insights and creative impulses to create the curriculum and to develop teaching sensibilities.

The conference deals with issues of interest to ECE administrators, practitioners, faculty and students. It covers all age groups of interest to the field.

The keynote speaker is Dr. J. Fraser Mustard, MD, PhD, co-author of the 1999 " Early Years Study ", and founding President of teh Canadian Institute for Advanced Research.

Session speakers and presenters include current and former members of the ECE faculty at Seneca College, as well as eminent guest speakers.

The Saturday "potpourri" features a wide choice of activities: take part in focus groups on leadership or stress reduction; go on a field trip; pamper yourself; physically challenge yourself; seek self-knowledge; or explore nature.
