Description from CWLA website:

Communities need to connect at their hearts if they are to successfully help today's troubled children and families. They also need policy and fiscal resources that support their efforts toprotect and nurture America's children. That's why the Child Welfare League
of America's is devoting its 2001 national conference to helping you
connect with those in your community who are driven by the same
cause, and to helping you understand and advocate for funding and
family friendly public policy. Together with professionals and
advocates from many fields, we'll work to examine whether current
federal laws, policies, and resources promote safe and healthy
children, families, and communities, and what steps need to be taken
to further our goals.

CWLA invites all child-serving organizations, as well as those in
juvenile justice, substance abuse, health and mental health care,
education and community-building organizations, to join together to
create a better future for America's children. Regardless of your area
of focus, you'll find what you need in 75+ policy, program, and
practice workshops that will highlight fresh, cross-systems
perspectives on collaboration, cultural competence and diversity,
integrating systems of care, expanding organizational missions,
technology and research, advocacy, and more. Plus, you'll hear from
nationally known speakers, network with your colleagues, establish or
enhance relationship with those in other fields who also serve
children, visit Capitol Hill to meet with your Senators and
Representatives, and help honor those who exemplify the best our
communities have to offer.

Target Audience: Board leaders, CEOs, frontline social workers,
administrators, students, foster parents, legislators, child advocates, and other professionals who work with children.
