CRRU Issue File (created May 2004)
This Issue File provides information about how ECEC is positioned in the
political parties’ platforms and what key social policy groups are
calling for in the election. In addition, news clippings and other resources
about ECEC in the federal campaign have been included.
Women’s
Equality.ca
The Womensequality.ca website has been created to appeal for action on
parental leave. (On January 27, 2004, the Quebec Court of Appeal found
in a unanimous decision that the sections of the federal Employment Insurance
Act that provide EI benefits during maternity and parental leave are outside
the constitutional jurisdiction of the federal government.)

Kids Canada presents information about a range of policy fields –
paid and unpaid family leaves, early childhood education and care, parental
benefits, and disability, and more –in in a clear and systematic
form.

The
Early Childhood Development Agreement
CRRU ISSUE file (created 2000)
On September 11, 2000 Canada's First Ministers (except for Québec's)
announced an agreement on early childhood development services. This ISSUE
file prepared by CRRU contains links to documents from the federal government
providing the policy context of the agreement. The next section provides
responses and analyses of the agreement. The last section presents policy
developments in the provinces since the initiative was announced (last
updated in 2002).
