McGuinty Government Working with Partners to Modernize Child Care

Ontario is looking to modernize the child care sector to ensure it remains strong and will help families experience a seamless transition to full-day kindergarten (FDK).

The province is releasing a discussion paper, Modernizing Child Care in Ontario, to begin a conversation that will help move Ontario towards a high quality, accessible and co-ordinated early learning and care system for all children. The paper was developed to encourage feedback from the sector and families to help guide the modernization of the child care sector so it works effectively with FDK, once fully implemented in 2014-15.

Modernizing child care is part of the McGuinty government's plan to create a more integrated early learning and child care system to ensure children get the best possible start.
