Excerpts from the submission:

Our research makes clear that BC can and should do more to support families with young children, and it should invest specifically in a universal system of quality child care services.

There are at least three reasons for making this investment that relate directly to the mandate and interests of this committee:

1. We are and international laggard when it comes to family policy, and child care is the missing piece of the family policy puzzle.

2. Investment in child care will promote four of the provinces five great goals.

3. Such an investment is both affordable and sustainable.
