Newfoundland and Labrador residents with children in daycare will soon see an increase in the daily subsidies they receive.
The provincial government said Tuesday that starting in September the toddler rate will go from $30 to $33 per day for children between two and three years old.
The government says the increase reflects the rising costs of providing child care. The subsidy applies to families who use a licensed child care centre or regulated family child care home.
The funding was approved in the provincial budget.
