EXCERPTS

...

Countless families have already had to deal with child-care
subsidy holds for months at a time, which meant that they could not
accept gainful employment when offered. The trickle-down effect of this
tremendous funding cut is huge. In my opinion, cuts like this reflect
the complete and utter disconnect of today's policymakers.

...

If they can't work, what options are they left with? Ontario
Works? It is ridiculous to entertain the idea that people that are
willing and able to work to provide for their families will find
themselves unable to do so because they cannot secure safe, affordable
child care.

Then we go from the ridiculous to the obscene when it seems that
today's policymakers would rather pick up the tab to support entire
families via Ontario Works than invest in child-care funding that
provides opportunities for children and parents alike.

I sincerely hope that the policymakers of today will connect the dots
sooner than later because this seemingly scattered approach to
governance without accountability is simply shameful, and the impact to
deep.
